Michael Fliri, artista visivo nato in Alto Adige, ha studiato all'Accademia di Belle Arti di Bologna, alla Kunstakademiet Bergen, Norvegia e Akademie der Bildenden Künste Monaco. Nel 2005 riceve una borsa a New York dove si è anche occupato di cinema, seguendo un corso di Filmmaker alla New York University. Nel 2006 è tra i selezionati del Corso superiore di arte visiva con Marjetica Potrc alla Fondazione Antonio Ratti, Como. Mostre personali da Dispari&Dispari, Reggio Emilia, Andechser Galerie, Innsbruck, Kunstrom, Bergen Zentnerstr. 18, Monaco. E' presente anche in mostre collettive alla Fondazione Merz, Torino; Museion, Bolzano; Mart, Rovereto; Reina Sofia, Madrid; Centro Luigi Pecci, Prato;  Biennale Mosca;  Hangar Bicocca, Milano; Maison Particulière, Bruxelles. Ha realizzato performancein contesti prestigiosi quali Centre Pompidou, Paris,  the Generali Foundation, Vienna e Ferdinandeum, Innsbruck.

Michael Fliri was born in South Tyrol, Italy, he lives in Italy and Vienna, Austria. He studied art at the Accademia di Belle Arti Bologna, the Akademie der Bildenden Künste, Munich and Kunstakademiet BergenNorway. Michael produces video, photography and sculptures, as well as live performances. His works were shown in solo and group exhibitions around Europe, including: Fondazione Merz Turin; Museion, Bolzano; Mart, Rovereto; Reina Sofia, Madrid; Contemporary Art Center Luigi Pecci, Prato;  Biennale Moscow;  Hangar Bicocca, Milan; Maison Particulière, Bruxelles. Michael received important commissions and realized a big video work for the facade of the Museion in Bolzano, Italy (2011). His works are in various public and private collections. He gave live performances at prestigious museums like the Centre Pompidou, Paris (2012), the Generali Foundation, Vienna (2010) and the Ferdinandeum, Innsbruck (2014). Michael Fliri was artist in residence at the Centre des Récollets Paris in 2008 (invited by the Dena Foundation) and at the Air in Antwerp in 2011 (selected by the Needcompany). He won the Artist price awarded by the City of Vienna with the Ministry of Culture (2007) and the ZF Art Award, Friedrichshafen, Germany (2014).
