Partendo dall'esperienza della musica concreta, z_e_l_l_e si collega alla lezione storica di Pierre Schaeffer: rarefatte stilizzazioni di quella identica narrazione della memoria, con le più recenti evoluzioni della musica post-digitale (glitch, click'n'cuts, microsound etc.).
Il duo è composto da Maurizio Martusciello e Nicola Catalano ed ha finora realizzato due album, nth (Line, 2001) e rjct::nw (CubicFabric, 2003). Un mondo di impalpabili astrazioni puntillistiche in ottica digital-zen, un mondo - per parafrasare Beckett - di "contorni che vibrano... equilibri... che si spezzano e si riformano man mano che li si guarda... colori che respirano, che ansimano... stasi brulicante... un mondo senza peso, senza forza, senza ombra". Onkyo all'ennesima potenza.
Starting from their experience of concrete music, z_e_l_l_e link themselves to Pierre Schaeffer’s historic lesson, i.e. a rarefied stylisation, identical to his narration of the memory, with the most recent evolution in post-digital music (glitch, click'n'cuts, microsound etc.).
The duo is comprised of Maurizio Martusciello and Nicola Catalano and has up until now produced two albums, nth (Line, 2001) and rjct::nw (CubicFabric, 2003). A world of impalpable abstraction, pointillistic prospective, digital-zen, a world - to paraphrase Beckett - "of vibrating outlines... equilibria... which divides and recombines as we watch ... of colours that breathe and pant... a teeming steady state... a weightless world, without strength and without shadow". Maurizio is also known as an improvisational and experimental drummer/sound composer with his energetic work and solo pieces from Metamkine. Nicola works as a radical journalist and radio programmer, introducing strange and unusual world music.
