Karl Karner, nato nel 1973, è un artista visivo, scultore e performer austriaco, basato a Vienna e Feldbach. Ha studiato alla Akademie der Bildenden Künste di Vienna con Heimo Zobernig, e dal 2007 ha partecipato a mostre, happening e eventi in gallerie e festival internazionali. Nel 2008 ha ricevuto il Premio Stiria per l'arte contemporaneaTra i progetti realizzati: The-Solo-Projects, White For, Fake Fukò, Verdigris Grünspan Greenspan, Black Sea Calling, Who is the boy from the wood. Dal 2005 collabora stabilmente con la danzatrice Linda Samaraweerová, con cui ha creato di recente le performance White For per la Vienna Art Week al Tanzquartier Wien e Alan Greenspangrünspan al Donaufestival di Krems. Il duo si muove tra arti visive e performative, sviluppando lavori coreografici che vedono convivere scultura, installazione, performance, danza, teatro e video. Dal 2013 Karner e Samaraweerová hanno aperto KS ROOM  uno spazio per mostre e performace in Stiria  in cui inviatno artisti austriaci e internazionali a mostrare il loro percorso creativo in fieri

Karl Karner, austrian visual artist, and performer, born in 1973 works and lives in Vienna and Feldbach. He studied at Akademie der bildenden Künste in Vienna with Heimo Zobernig, and since 2007 exhibited internationally in galleries and festivals. In 2008 he receIved the Prize of Styria for contemporary art. Among his projects: The-Solo-Projects, White For, Fake Fukò, Verdigris Grünspan Greenspan, Black Sea Calling, Who is the boy from the wood. Since 2005 he collaborates with the dancer Linda Samaraweerová, with whom recently premiered White For at Tanzquartier Wien/Vienna Art Week and Alan Greenspangrünspan at Donaufestival in Krems. Together they move across genres between the visual and the performing arts, and develop choreographic works out of sculpture, installation, performance, dance, theatre and video presented in the form of exhibitions or performances. Their works allude to transformation and progress. In 2013 Karl Karner and Linda Samaraweerová opened KS ROOM - an exhibition and performance space in Styria where they invite Austrian and international artists. With KS ROOM they want to make choreografic processes in performance and fine art visible.
