Paula Caspão

Paula Caspão è ricercatrice post-dottorato e docente ospite all'Università di Lisbona, Centro di Studi Teatrali, e ricercatrice associata presso l'Istituto di Storia Contemporanea della Nuova Università di Lisbona. Ha conseguito un dottorato di ricerca in Filosofia (epistemologia ed estetica) presso l'Università di Paris Nanterre ed è stata Visiting Scholar presso la Tisch School of the Arts, Performance Studies/New York University. La sua attuale ricerca affronta le ecologie infrastrutturali, le poetiche e i gesti implicati nelle pratiche e nel lavoro (im)materiale che costituiscono il Museo, l'Archivio e il fare Storia. Avendo lavorato a lungo sulle procedure di contaminazione tra pratiche coreografiche, documentali e teoriche, dal 2005 ha presentato le sue ricerche in Europa, Australia e Stati Uniti. Ha fondato il T-Fi (Theory-Fiction) Cabinet, e co-fondato INSTITUT, piattaforma parigina per il pensiero critico attraverso le pratiche artistiche e la ricerca collettiva, e fa parte del collettivo baldio|Performance Studies. È autrice del libro Relations On Paper (2013), e curatrice delle pubblicazioni The Page As a Dancing Site (2014) e Pièces Assemblées (2017).

Paula Caspão is a postdoctoral research fellow and guest lecturer at the University of Lisbon, Centre for Theatre Studies, and an associate researcher at the Institute for Contemporary History of the New University of Lisbon. She holds a PhD in Philosophy (epistemology and aesthetics) from the University of Paris Nanterre, and was a Visiting Scholar at the Tisch School of the Arts, Performance Studies/New York University. Her current research tackles the infrastructural ecologies, poetics, and gestures implicated in the specific practices and (im)material labour that constitute the Museum, the Archive, and History making at large. Having worked extensively on procedures of contamination between choreographic, documental, and theoretical practices, she has been presenting work across Europe, Australia, and the USA since 2005. She has founded T-Fi (Theory-Fiction) Cabinet, co-founded INSTITUT, a Parisian platform for critical thought across artistic practices and collective research, and is part of the collective baldio|Performance Studies. She is the author of Relations On Paper (2013), editor of The Page As a Dancing Site (2014) and Pièces Assemblées (2017).
